The Powerball jackpot reached $716 million for the drawing held on Wednesday, October 28. The winning combination drawn was 13, 16, 60, 11, and 47, with the red Powerball number set at 47. A Powerplay multiplier of 2x was applied to the drawing, which increases the value of all non-jackpot prizes.

Players who matched all five white balls and the red Powerball could claim the top prize. The cash option for the jackpot stood at $307.2 million. This amount is calculated before federal and state taxes are deducted. The lottery offered winners the choice between an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a single lump-sum cash payment.

This jackpot follows a series of large wins in 2026. On August 12, a ticket sold in Illinois claimed the $1,040 million jackpot. Earlier in the year, two players split a $20 million prize from a May 2 drawing, with one ticket sold in Florida and the other in Texas. Prior to that, two winners from Indiana and Kansas shared a $143.4 million jackpot on April 29.

Other major winners in 2026 include a Delaware player who took home $230.8 million on April 6. An Arkansas player won $250.8 million on March 2. These results illustrate the frequency of multi-state jackpot winners across different regions of the United States during the current fiscal year.

To participate in the Powerball, players select five numbers from 1 to 59 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. The base cost of a single ticket is $2. Players can add a Powerplay feature for an extra fee, which multiplies non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 5, or 10. In Idaho and Montana, the Powerplay is included in the ticket price, which starts at $3 per play.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 31. If no winner is identified in the October 28 drawing, the jackpot will roll over to the next scheduled date. The lottery organization confirms that all advertised prize amounts are pre-tax figures.
