The Los Angeles Rams currently hold 10 players on injured reserve. Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the team does not expect to make a major trade before the Nov. 10 deadline. He cited the pending return of key personnel as the primary reason for the quiet approach.

The Rams have been hit hard by injuries this season. Two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett has not practiced or played since Week 1 following knee surgery. All-Pro receiver Davante Adams is recovering from a ruptured hamstring. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner is sidelined with a groin injury, and tight end Terrance Ferguson has missed games since Week 3.

McVay believes the team's value lies in the expected return of these specific players rather than new acquisitions. He noted that many of the missing pieces are focal points for both sides of the ball. He projects that several of these athletes will be back within a month. He added that the conversation would change if the missing players were done for the entire season.

The Rams face the Chargers on Sunday afternoon. Center Coleman Shelton (hip) did not practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday. If Shelton cannot play, offensive coordinator Nate Scheelhaase expects Dylan McMahon to start at center. Scheelhaase praised McMahon's foundation and reps over the last couple of years. He described Shelton as a tone-setter and a key piece of the offensive communication.

Other roster updates include linebacker Nate Landman and cornerback Trent McDuffie. Both returned to practice this week after missing one and two games, respectively. Landman was a full participant, while McDuffie was limited. Defensive coordinator Chris Shula said Landman looks great and provides a physical presence for the defense. Tight end Colby Parkinson (ribs) did not practice for a second straight day.

The NFC West saw two major moves on Tuesday. The Seattle Seahawks traded two draft picks for six-time All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson. The San Francisco 49ers traded a fourth-round pick to bring Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner back to the Bay Area. McVay acknowledged those moves but maintained that the Rams are focused on their own injured players returning to health.

The Rams' injury list includes wide receiver Puka Nacua as well. Defensive tackle Poona Ford is done for the year. The team expects the rest of the listed injured players to return before the season ends. McVay said the team is comfortable with how the roster is shaping up heading into the second half of the schedule.
