Minnesota is the final unbeaten team in the NFL, yet it faces a difficult road test against Detroit.

The Vikings are listed as three-point underdogs for their Sunday divisional matchup against the 4-2 Lions. Detroit's offense has performed well, with Jared Goff operating as a quiet MVP candidate behind running back Jahmyr Gibbs and receiver Amon Ra St. Brown. The Vikings defense, coordinated by Brian Flores, has struggled to contain opposing offenses this season. This contest pits two high-performing units against each other in a critical conference game.

Cleveland and Pittsburgh lead the AFC North with identical 5-2 records. Both teams are scheduled to play each other on Sunday in a game featuring the lowest point total on the Week 8 slate at 39.5. Cincinnati trails them at 4-2, but quarterback Joe Burrow is playing at an elite level. He ranks sixth in the league in expected points added per drop-back and is one touchdown pass behind the NFL leader. The Bengals have secured consecutive home victories and will face the Titans and Falcons before returning to host Pittsburgh.

The trade deadline has already triggered major roster moves. Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner have been traded from Indianapolis, while Jeffery Simmons has been dealt by Tennessee. Teams are now focusing on Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Josh Downs. These in-season trades continue a trend of increased activity around the deadline period.

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love has thrown seven touchdown passes and two interceptions in the last three weeks. His performance includes a three-touchdown game against Carolina. Atlanta quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has completed six touchdown passes without an interception in his last two games. His 109 quarterback rating through his first five starts marks a strong return for the 2024 third-round pick.

Chicago and Seattle will meet Monday night, marking their third consecutive week in a prime-time slot. Seattle has played Sunday night, Thursday night, and Monday night in recent weeks. Chicago has played Monday night, Sunday night, and Monday night. This scheduling pattern places a heavy burden on both teams as the midseason approaches.

Baltimore and Buffalo will play in the Week 8 game of the week. Lamar Jackson's return to the lineup elevates the profile of the matchup. Buffalo, coming off a bye, has played high-scoring games recently, including a 37-34 win at the Rams. The Bills are favored by three points against the Ravens, who remain a competitive threat in the AFC.
