The Kansas City Chiefs entered Sunday's Week 7 game with a perfect record, but they left Lumen Field with their first loss of the 2026 season. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Chiefs 27-19 in a contest that ended Kansas City's seven-game winning streak.

The Chiefs' receiving corps struggled to generate yardage. With Rashee Rice sidelined by a hamstring strain and Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve, the team relied on Xavier Worthy, Cyrus Allen, Justin Watson, Andrew Armstrong, and Jalen Royals. The group combined for only six receptions and 39 yards. General Manager Brett Veach is expected to look for additional receiving help before the trade deadline on Nov. 10.

Seattle's defense clamped down on Kansas City's rushing attack. Kenneth Walker III, who entered the game leading the league with 665 rushing yards and became the first Super Bowl MVP to play against his former team the following season, was limited to 36 yards on 14 carries. The Seahawks played two deep safeties for much of the contest and never allowed Walker to gain more than nine yards on a single carry.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the Seahawks' offense. He finished with 129 receiving yards in the first half, the most by a Seahawk in a half since Tyler Lockett in 2020. His season total now stands at 867 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. According to ESPN Research, he is the first player in the Super Bowl era to record at least 850 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns in a team's first seven games.

Sam Darnold played a mixed game for Seattle. He completed 13 of his first 17 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown before throwing an interception in the final seconds of the first half. The pick was his eighth in the last five games. He finished with 20 completions on 28 attempts for 257 yards and was not sacked, marking a change from the previous two games when he took five sacks in each.

Patrick Mahomes had his lowest fantasy scoring performance of the season. He threw for 165 yards without a touchdown. This is the second consecutive game he has not thrown a score. He has exceeded 250 passing yards only once in his last four outings. His average fantasy output over that span is 12.4 points.

The Seahawks will host the Chicago Bears on Nov. 2 at 8:15 p.m. ET. The Chiefs travel to Denver to face the Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
