The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 on Monday night, extending Philadelphia's losing streak to five consecutive games.
Dak Prescott passed for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the win. CeeDee Lamb caught two of those touchdown passes, including a 16-yard reception in the corner of the end zone late in the third quarter that gave Dallas a 28-21 lead.
Javonte Williams rushed for a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown for Dallas. His performance marked the first 150-yard rushing game by a Cowboys player since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Brandon Aubrey added three field goals of 55, 27, and 24 yards.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots in his lungs. Tanner McKee started in his place and completed 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. McKee's only scoring drive lasted nearly 10 minutes in the third quarter, ending with a 4-yard pass to rookie Makai Lemon.
Saquon Barkley returned to the lineup after missing more than two games with a hamstring injury. He carried the ball seven times for 62 yards. Barkley scored on an 8-yard run early in the first quarter but also spent time on the sideline receiving treatment for his back and hamstring.
The Eagles held the lead at 21-20 late in the third quarter before Prescott's connection with Lamb shifted the momentum. Prescott ran in the two-point conversion after Lamb's second touchdown. Williams scored a 2-yard touchdown to close out the scoring, bringing the final margin to 17 points.
Jeffrey Lurie was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame during the game. The team owner, who purchased the franchise in 1994, spoke briefly at halftime alongside Hall of Famers Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb. Lurie did not hold a pregame news conference, leaving coach Nick Sirianni as the primary spokesperson regarding Hurts' condition.
The Eagles now sit with a 2-5 record, while the Cowboys improved to 3-4. The New York Giants lead the NFC East at 4-2-1. Philadelphia will play at Washington in a Sunday night matchup against another struggling division rival, while Dallas hosts Arizona on Sunday.
