The Dallas Cowboys hold a four point betting advantage over the Philadelphia Eagles as the two teams face off Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field. The matchup pits two franchises tied at 2 4 against each other in a division where the leader, the New York Giants, sits only half a game ahead at 3 2 1. This meeting offers the first clear test of whether either squad can reverse its recent slide and reassert control over the NFC East standings.
The competitive landscape has shifted dramatically in the last fortnight. Over the past two weeks, every team in the division played twice, yet none managed a victory. This marks the first instance since the 1970 AFL NFL merger where all four teams in a division went winless over a two week span. The lack of progress has kept the division race tight and unpredictable entering this head to head contest.
Philadelphia enters the game on a four game losing streak, its longest such run since 2020. The offensive output has been a primary concern, with the Eagles scoring just 58 points across those four defeats. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is out for the season with blood clots, placing Tanner McKee in the starting role. McKee, who spent most of his first two years as a backup, faces his first high stakes start after just two days of first team practice last week. He now has a full week to work with first year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.
The running game presents additional challenges for the visitors. Saquon Barkley is dealing with a hamstring injury and his status remains uncertain, while backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also sidelined. Carson Steele, recently elevated from the practice squad, injured his shoulder in the last outing. Dameon Pierce was the only healthy option at the position last week, rushing for 35 yards against a Dallas defense that allows 4.7 yards per carry.
The Cowboys are not without their own financial and statistical concerns. They rank 30th in the league on defense under first year coordinator Christian Parker. Offensively, the team scored only 29 points in its last two losses, including a 23 13 defeat to Green Bay. This marks the first time since 2019 that Dallas has scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive starts by Dak Prescott. Owner Jerry Jones stated at the NFL annual fall meeting on Wednesday that he does not anticipate further coaching changes this season, describing the recent hiring of Mike Pettine as a strategic move.
Several individual performance metrics are in play for the players on the field. Javonte Williams has seven rushing touchdowns in the first six games, a total that places him second among Cowboys in history behind Emmitt Smith. CeeDee Lamb leads the franchise in receptions through six games with 48, a league third best total. On the Eagles side, tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the team career receptions list.
The market currently prices Dallas as a four point favorite. The Cowboys are 3 3 against the spread this season, while the Eagles are 1 5. Dallas leads the all time series 72 58 and won the last meeting 24 21 on November 23, 2025. The game is scheduled for 7 15 p.m. CST on ESPN. Philadelphia plays at Washington on November 1 before hosting the Giants, a final divisional stretch that will determine if the season can still be salvaged.
