Mexican singer Carlos Rivera is scheduled for surgery on his vocal cords within days. The procedure comes after a temporary treatment to avoid the operation failed to heal a direct injury to his voice.

The timeline for the medical intervention shifted after the artist noticed minor bleeding. Journalist Joel O'Farrill stated on November 4 that doctors performed a review and initiated an urgent treatment. The goal was to rest the vocal cords for two weeks to prevent the need for an operation. This period of silence occurred between early September and early October.

When medical staff re-examined Rivera after the rest period, the injury had not healed. They informed the singer that surgery was now necessary. Rivera had previously announced in October that the operation would take place during the second week of November. He also noted at that time that he hoped to resume activities in early 2027.

O'Farrill reported that the surgery is set for this week. He estimated the recovery process will last approximately three months. Based on that timeline, the reporter predicts Rivera will return to the stage around February. The singer has expressed his own goal to be back by February to complete concerts missed this year and continue his tour.

The initial announcement regarding the second week of November remains the official window for the procedure. The minor bleeding that triggered the medical review served as the primary alert for the underlying condition. Rivera is currently preparing for the intervention that will pause his live performance schedule for the next several months.
