The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 103-87 on Tuesday night at the Intuit Dome, extending their winning streak to four games.

Luka Doncic sat out the game due to back tightness, giving the Clippers a rare opportunity to play without their primary offensive threat. Despite this advantage, the home team struggled to contain the Lakers' balanced attack. The Lakers took control during the second quarter, outscoring the Clippers 31-16 in that period. They established a 56-38 halftime lead, capping the half with a 16-0 run.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue noted that early defensive lapses set the tone for the rest of the contest. His team turned the ball over four times in the first four minutes. The Clippers finished the game with 24 turnovers, a number Lue described as way too many for a team with limited depth. He emphasized that the players understand the need to take better care of the basketball, especially when the margin for error is small.

Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 16 points and eight assists. Although he shot 6-for-16 from the field, he was supported by a deep bench. Quentin Grimes contributed 23 points, five assists, and four steals. Collin Sexton added 21 points, shooting 4-for-7 from three-point range. Matisse Thybulle scored 15 points on 4-for-5 shooting, while Sandro Mamukelashvili provided 13 points and eight rebounds. Walker Kessler finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised the team's rebounding effort, highlighting their 17 offensive boards. The Lakers outrebounded the Clippers 48-41. Redick noted that securing extra possessions allowed the team to win scoring opportunities by a wide margin. He credited the aggressive effort on the glass for generating turnovers and maintaining control of the pace.

The Clippers attempted a rally in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 12-2 to cut the deficit to seven points. However, the Lakers responded with a 27-15 run to close the period, led by Sexton, who scored 11 consecutive points including back-to-back three-pointers. Keaton Wagler, a rookie guard, finished with a team-high 21 points for the Clippers, making 10 of 12 free throws. He ended the third quarter with a half-court buzzer-beater.

In the final quarter, the Lakers extended their lead to 23 points and managed the rest of the game. Darius Garland recorded 14 points and committed five turnovers. Derrick Jones Jr. added 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals. The Clippers shot 35% from the field and 32% from three-point range, while the Lakers shot 44% from the field and 29% from deep.

The Clippers are now 1-3 with six key rotation players missing from their lineup. The Lakers are 4-1 and will look to maintain their momentum in their next scheduled game.
