60th Beautillion Targets Inland Empire Youth

Social Lites Inc. of the Inland Empire and 100 Black Men of the Inland Empire announced the launch of the 60th annual Beautillion scholarship program. The initiative targets high school junior and senior young men of color. This year's theme is “Young Men Rising: Leadership, Brotherhood and Legacy.”

The program provides mentorship, tools, and relationships to help participants achieve their goals. Alonso Duncan, president of 100 Black Men of the Inland Empire, stated that the core of the initiative is mentorship. He said participants will receive guidance from positive male role models to develop character and strengthen leadership skills. Duncan added that the group aims to help young men make responsible decisions and recognize their full potential.

Participants will attend interactive workshops and leadership activities. The curriculum includes financial literacy education, career exploration, and community service. Students will also gain exposure to college, vocational, and trade schools. The program offers pathways for entrepreneurship and military careers. Participants have the opportunity to earn scholarships and educational resources.

The 60th annual Beautillion celebration will take place in March. This event will recognize the accomplishments and growth of the participating young men. Community members are encouraged to recommend eligible high school juniors and seniors for the program.

A meeting for parents, guardians, teachers, and interested young men is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 7. The gathering will be held at the New Hope Family Life Center at 1505 W. Highland Ave. in San Bernardino. Attendees will learn about program expectations, mentorship opportunities, and scholarship benefits.
